The Department of Employment and Labour has raised concerns about a spate of retrenchment notices that have gone out at major companies in South Africa, which could impact over 250,000 people down the line.

Minister of Employment and Labour, Nomakhosazana Meth, said she was “gravely concerned” about the retrenchments affecting Ford South Africa, ArcellorMittal South Africa (AMSA) and Goodyear SA.
