“I Won’t Resign” – Sibiya Speaks Out After Raid, Mchunu’s Office Cries Foul

In a dramatic turn of events, Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya says he feels betrayed and blindsided after his home was raided by law enforcement this week. Speaking outside his Centurion home, Sibiya declared he would not step down, despite growing pressure and allegations that he's shielding criminal networks in KwaZulu-Natal. Officers seized his personal laptop and three cellphones during the raid, which he believes was orchestrated by none other than National Commissioner Fannie Masemola. This comes as the fallout around suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu intensifies. His chief of staff, Cedrick Nkabinde, dropped a bombshell on Thursday, claiming Masemola also ordered a search and seizure at his home – allegedly to erase damning evidence he planned to present at the Madlanga Commission. At the heart of the storm is KZN police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who has publicly accused Mchunu of political interference and Sibiya of working against anti-crime efforts. Mkhwanazi even told Parliament that Sibiya’s arrest was “imminent.” But Nkabinde pushed back, denying any improper ties between Mchunu and controversial businessman Brown Mogotsi. He claims the raid on his and the minister’s devices was a targeted move to destroy proof that could clear their names. Kaya News reporter Karinda Jagmohan and Keneiloe Huma break down the latest twists with Phemelo – tune in for the full interview and unpacking of a story that’s far from over.
