Tensions are rising in Randfontein after residents from the Sporong informal settlement confronted Human Settlements officials over delayed relocation plans. Community leaders say only about 40 people have received houses so far, claiming the allocation was described by officials as a “special favour.” Phemelo speaks to the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements MEC about the relocation process and also gets reaction from community leader Sello Makwetlane.
