Petra Schutte is one of 5 artists from the Free State Art Collective who is currently part of the Turbine Art Fair. She talks about her works on display: There is joy in spaces and how they interact with one another. How buildings interact with nature and vice-versa. There is a rhythm and movement visible through this interaction, but for some, it goes unnoticed. This allows me to create an idiosyncratic, imaginative world that increases the need to explore the page with various marks and textures’ inviting the viewer into the midst of the artists mind, creating their own exploration and movement of an idiosyncratic, playful, imaginative world or past memory.
