#FamilyFocus: World Heart Week - The risks related to alcohol consumption and tobacco use

The Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa recommends that if you drink alcohol, then do so in moderation. Drinking too much alcohol is harmful to your heart and general health. Tobacco causes 8 million deaths every year from cardiovascular disease, lung disorders, cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. Smoking along with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, physical inactivity, obesity, diabetes are the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. These risk factors are highlighted by the CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of SA, Prof Pamela Naidoo. Take a listen here.
